Audit of the use of energy-saving PCs
The Chemnitz municipal authorities run approx. 3200 computer workstations (inc. in school offices). During the reporting period, an audit was conducted to establish whether the standard desktop PCs installed to date could be successively replaced with mini desktop PCs. The significantly more economical technology used in mini PCs reduces the energy consumption of the basic device (excluding the monitor) to approx. one-quarter of that of a comparable standard desktop PC (without monitor). Following a successful test phase, successive implementation commenced in 2018.
