The European Commission is organising a conference on sustainable ICT, smart grids and smart cities.

The two-day conference will be opened by Commissioners Günther Oettinger and Neelie Kroes. It will bring together policy makers and stakeholders such as telecom companies, energy providers, regulators and consumer organisations.

During the panel “Reducing the ICT footprint in cities” on the 4th, the Green Digital Charter signatories Malmo and Bologna will explain how they are planning to attend the commitments of the Green Digital Charter of reducing their ICT carbon footprint by 30% by 2020.  What tools do they have at their disposal to do so? How can they measure the reduction of the carbon footprint of their ICT?

Registration is free of charge, but obligatory and is now open: https://smartenergy2012.regware.be.
