Green Digital Charter

On October 16 2012 we provided our video message about the Green Digital Charter: ICT for Sustainable Cities to the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) workshop “Connected City- the Greener Future” in Shenzhen, China.
The one-day event examined how the deployment of ICT solutions in sectors such as energy, housing and transport can turn the challenges of today’s cities into opportunities for greening the world economy.
More specifically, the events objectives were to:
- Draw attention to the potential of ICT to address sustainability challenges
- Showcase state-of-the-art ICT solutions in areas like transport, energy and housing, highlighting the efficiencies that can be achieved
- Encourage Chinese companies to become engaged in the climate effort by making the business case for developing smart ICT solutions
- Raise excitement amongst local policymakers through relevant research
