FollowThe European Commission will release its Communication on Smart Cities and Communities on 10 July. The Communication will set a reinforced EU policy framework across the three sectors of energy, transport and ICT in support of sustainable urban development.
The European Commission is also organising a Smart Cities and Communities Conference which will take place in Brussels on 10 July to correspond with the release of the Communication. The Conference will include, amongst other things, speeches from Commissioner for Tranpsort, Siim Kallas, and Commissioner for the Digital Agenda, Neelie Kroes, and a discussion on the Convergence and integration of energy, transport and ICT sectors for urban systems.
